The original helic camshaft gear of a 2CV creates constant axial force especially in the use of heavier valve springs.
This results in power loss. The VGS-development of a straight cut camshaft gear will significantly reduce axial force which automatically gives the engine more power. For some it may be too much gear noise, however some people really like the sound and it’s compensated by less friction! The original two-piece gear is always a weakness at tuning.
