Depending on your destination (fuel quality), a turbo … it might be necessarily to change the compression ratio.
If you want to use a turbocharger or compressor, we strongly recommend lowering the compression ratio.
When you buy a VGS engine kit, the cylinder base gaskets are included to get a compression ratio of around 9/1. The original 602cc engine unleaded had a ratio of 7.9 / 1 or 8/1 or 8.5/1. It is tempting to increase the compression ratio in order to get more power. Be aware, however, that this can have it’s consequences.
